Key features: Pergola, natural pool, water feature, outdoor kitchen, firepit, planting and garden lighting

Pergola and Outdoor Entertaining Space

A timber pergola creates a sheltered outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining, connecting the garden's seating and dining areas with the surrounding landscape. Carefully positioned planting and garden lighting help the space feel welcoming throughout the day and into the evening.

Planting, Lighting And Garden Details

Carefully considered planting softens the hard landscaping and creates a natural setting around the garden's entertaining spaces. Garden lighting highlights key features after dark, allowing the garden to remain welcoming and usable throughout the evening.

Water Features and Natural Pool

Water plays an important role in The Oasis garden, with a natural pool and water feature adding movement, atmosphere and a strong connection with the surrounding landscape. The planting around the water creates a natural transition between the different garden spaces.

Outdoor Kitchen and Dining Area

Immediately outside the property, a beautiful cottage kitchen area creates a welcoming space for outdoor entertaining. The design includes a pizza oven, water feature and dining table, with herbs and a large Camellia growing directly from the table to bring planting into the heart of the space.

Garden Views and Rural Setting

Beyond the dining area, a lawn mirrors the surrounding rural landscape, framed by carefully considered planted borders. A cosy timber garden building sits across the lawn, providing a peaceful place to relax while enjoying views across the garden and the countryside beyond.

Firepit and Natural Pool

A circular stone seating area with a firepit creates another inviting space for relaxing and entertaining. From here, the garden leads down to a natural swimming pool surrounded by lush planting, with a hidden swing seat providing a secluded spot to enjoy the garden.

Together, these spaces create a beautifully connected garden design in Tockholes, combining outdoor entertaining, planting, water and views of the surrounding Lancashire countryside.

Everyone involved was delighted with the finished garden, and it was a real honour for Peter Cowell Garden Design to be part of this project.
